Every December, my family gears up for Christmas with excitement and tradition. The Advent wreath with the five candles, the glowing star, the decorations, and the majestic Christmas tree all add to the festive spirit.

This is the time I bring out my special Santa bag and hang it on my cupboard. I get gifts not only on Christmas day but throughout December. I also write letters to Santa, and guess what? I get a reply every single time.

One special tradition we have is sending Christmas cards to our near and dear ones. My grandmother used to send them to her seven siblings, but now my mother and I carry it on, creating our own cards to send to family and friends worldwide. It’s also a great time to collect unique Christmas stamps from greeting cards.

Christmas also means parties, Secret Santa, and attending midnight mass, followed by cutting homemade cake. The food—mutton stew, chicken cutlets, and plum cake—is another highlight.

I'm concerned that traditions like sending greeting cards and spending time with friends and family are fading out, and I hope these cherished customs continue for future generations.
